Drive iQ announces CEO appointment and unveils new driver training programme

Date: 17 January 2024   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Driver safety firm Drive iQ has announced the appointment of Richard Hill as CEO.

Among Hill's tasks will be to lead the business through the launch of Smarter Driving, a new driver training programme.

As co-founder of the company, Hill is said to have been instrumental in its growth to becoming a supplier of more than 200 UK firms.

Fellow co-founder Nicholas Rowley will assume responsibility for the company's strategic direction as CSO, while Sam Hill - who oversaw the development of the Smarter Driving programme - has been named as chief product officer.

Smarter Driving is described as combining actionable insights and 'expert-driven hacks' to engage users and build heightened awareness and understanding of risks on the road.

Richard Hill said: "Smarter Driving makes the vital connection between personal wellbeing, task performance, and safety on the roads.

"Our annual coaching programme encourages users to make incremental yet impactful changes to their daily routines, which will enhance their driving enjoyment and make for safer and more sustainable journeys.

"In a market which over the last five years has been almost entirely focused on data and technology-centric solutions, we purposefully focus on people. Safety starts with the individual behind the wheel being fit, prepared and capable of making smarter decisions."
