Orders open for mild hybrid versions of Vauxhall Corsa

Date: 10 January 2024   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Vauxhall has added mild hybrid powertrain options to its Corsa small car range.

A 28hp electric motor is paired with a 1.2-litre petrol engine, with combined outputs of 100hp and 136hp available.

The 48V hybrid system allows the car to be driven on electric power alone for short periods, such as when manoeuvring or travelling in slow urban traffic, and also assists the petrol engine when accelerating.

Vauxhall says that compared with a petrol Corsa, the mild hybrid system achieves a fuel economy saving of around 20%, and also reduces CO2 emissions.

The 100hp mild hybrid Corsa is available with Design and GS equipment grades, while the 136hp version is available with GS and Ultimate grades.

Prices are £22,890 for the 100hp Design, £25,270 for the 100hp GS, £26,240 for the 136hp GS, and £29,020 for the 136hp Ultimate.

The first deliveries are expected in March.
