DfT signs up TrafficMaster to measure congestion reduction

Trafficmaster has struck a £3 million deal with the Department for Transport to supply traffic information for the next three years.
According to a Trafficmaster spokesman: "The data will assist the DfT and other Government agencies in monitoring performance against their targets, in identifying congestion hotspots and in measuring the impact of schemes to improve traffic flow on the strategic road network."
Trafficmaster will will supply a combination of real road speed information plus journey time and traffic flow data.
