Infiniti still beyond the horizon

Date: 11 December 2007   |   Author: Hugh Hunston

Infiniti's plans to launch what is Nissan's premium brand in the UK have stalled after the parent company scrapped plans to use a single dealer group - the route taken by under-achieving Cadillac with Pendragon - following a failure to agree terms.

As a result, Infiniti may be forced to delay establishing a retail network beyond the initial launch date of October next year, when mainland European outlets should come on stream.

Although bricks and mortar facilities may be delayed, Infiniti claims British customers will be able to reserve cars online, and mobile roadshow units will appear to let clients "see and touch" the cars.
