BVRLA launches new fleet management course

Date: 04 July 2008

BVRLA chief executive John Lewis

The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association has launched a new course for leasing providers and fleet managers.

The course is developed with the ICFM and has the backing of ACFO and is aimed at sales and business development executives.

The Professional Fleet Consultant Development Programme will help participants align their sales role with the responsibilities of a fleet manager.

"This course is not about teaching our members how to sell," said John Lewis, director-general of the BVRLA. "We are inviting them to step into the shoes of their client and learn more about the pressures, barriers to 'buy-in' and issues they face."

Two, two-day modules around six to eight weeks apart will cover aspects such as the principles of fleet management, risk management, acquisition and disposal and legal and health and safety obligations.

Assessment will be through written assignments and will be externally accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management.
