'Premium' Honda priced Accordingly

Date: 23 March 2008

Honda has announced that prices for the saloon version of the new Accord will start at £19,250 and head up to £26,650.

The entry-level car is around £2000 more expensive than the outgoing model, but Honda has defended this by pointing to the increase in specification and quality available on the new car.

The standard SE trim has been dropped, with the ES now being the lowest specification available when the car goes on sale on 1 June.

Honda reckons the ES GT will be the key model, priced at £21,900 with the new i-DTEC diesel engine.

Prices have not yet been announced for the estate version, which is available from 1 September.

More details are expected in the spring.
