Audi and Citroen triumph in British security awards
Date:
18 June 2009
Audi has been named best manufacturer at the British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards, with Citroen scooping the title as best van manufacturer.
Audi's victory was its fourth in a row, and the firm was awarded the title as the manufacturer with the largest range that meets full compliance with industry standards.
The awards are hosted by Thatcham, the Motor Industry Repair Research Centre, and supported by insurers, the Home Office, Department for Transport and AA Motoring Trust.
"Car manufacturers can be proud of what has been achieved in recent years in terms of security and we hope to encourage van manufacturers to make the same progress," said Thatcham's vehicle security manager Mike Briggs. "All of those manufacturers who have been recognized today should be praised for their continuing efforts."
