SAFED van training hits Scotland

Date: 17 July 2009   |   Author: Tom Webster

The first 50 SAFED driver trainers in Scotland have completed their training after the scheme was introduced in May this year.

The Scottish government offered 50 fully funded places for trainers, and 100 for van drivers, all on a first-come-first-served basis. Training has already started for the drivers, but some places are still available for interested parties.

The scheme has already trained 11,000 van drivers and 380 trainers in England since the launch of the scheme in 2006.

A list of the qualified trainers can be found at www.safedforvansscotland.co.uk, and companies interested in the remaining fully-funded places for drivers should contact scotland@safed.org.uk or on 0870 190 6354.
