Fiat appoints fleet director

Fiat has appointed Simon Wheeler as fleet and remarketing director.
Wheeler takes over responsibility for developing fleet and corporate sales, in addition to his existing role for used vehicle remarketing and disposal of Fiat Group vehicles into the Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Abarth and Fiat Professional dealer networks.
"I am really looking forward to this new role within a company I have not only enjoyed working for but grown to respect," Wheeler said. "Fiat Group is now a serious force within the UK motor industry and our recent success in the retail channel now deserves to be repeated in the major fleet sectors.
"We have managed to improve dramatically the desirability and resulting residual values of our products over recent months by maintaining our resolve to only transact commercially sound business with our growing customer base.
"Add to that the introduction of some stunning new models such as Fiat Punto Evo, 500 TwinAir, and the highly acclaimed Alfa Romeo Giulietta, and we have a very strong offering for the fleet market."
Wheeler has previously worked for dealer group Dutton Forshaw as well as Rover Group and most recently Trader Media Group.
