Hyundai unveils mini-MPV

Date: 20 September 2010

Hyundai is to unveil its new mini-MPV at the Paris Motor Show on 30 September.

The lower medium ix20 is the second model targeted at the European market to adopt the brand's "fluidic sculpture" design language, which Hyundai claims sets it apart from the boxy minivan shape associated with the sector.

The ix20 goes on sale in the UK in November and is expected to appeal to young families.

A spokesman for Hyundai claimed the ix20 would be "the lowest emitting car in its class" with C02 emissions of just 114g/km and frugal fuel economy delivering 65mpg.

All manual versions of the ix20 will be equipped with stop/go technology as standard and the model comes with Hyundai's Five Year Triple Care warranty.

In a busy period of launch activity for the brand, Hyundai is also revealing its facelifted i10 city car in Paris. The new line-up includes a 1.0-litre engine with C02 emissions of 99g/km. The i10 will arrive in UK showrooms in early 2011.
