New fleet boss as Chevrolet goes it alone

Date: 01 February 2010

Chevrolet has confirmed the appointment of Keith Jones as its national fleet sales manager as the brand exits GM UK Fleet and establishes a new independent fleet sales operation.

Jones has worked within GM UK for the last 12 years, most recently as Saab national fleet sales manager, and is aiming to "successfully grow the business by realising Chevrolet's potential in the business market," according to the firm.

"The company has huge potential in the fleet market, we have a great range of products that keeps on getting better and we're ready to offer the same levels of great value for money, stylish design, comprehensive specification and customer-driven service to our fleet clients that are already much admired by our retail customers," said Jones.

Chevrolet will still make use of GM UK Fleet back-office functions such as remarketing defleeted vehicles, dealing with daily rental firms and the Motability operation.

Chevrolet UK boss Mark terry described the move as "a brand new dawn, a brand-focussed organisation, another stage in the evolution of Chevrolet," when talking to BusinessCar before Christmas.
