Energy firm cuts fuel cost by 15%

Energy saving installation company Mark Group has saved £1m on fuel spend, after reviewing its business practices and adopting Keyfuels fuel card usage.
Running a fleet of 1000 vehicles across 15 UK depots, the firm decided to start using Keyfuels fuel cards after recognising it needed a way to reduce and carefully monitor its fuel spend.
Mark Group environmental and road safety manager Jamie Bogg said: "With such a large fleet and over 6,000 insulation solutions being installed every week, it's difficult to keep track of fuel usage and we had little provision for monitoring.
"As a result, we were spending about £6.5m a year on fuel with our previous provider and needed a way to reduce this figure significantly.
He continued: "With the Keyfuels cards we pay a fixed weekly price for our fuel, making a saving on the pump price and allowing our drivers to fill up at over 1700 sites across the UK.
Bogg said that online monitoring and invoicing has made life easier, reducing administration time: "Plus the fixed price means we can accurately forecast and manage our fuel costs, with all drivers paying the same price wherever on the network they choose to fill up.
"The reduction on pump price and effective monitoring tools have allowed us to take control of our fuel spend and over the year we've already made a huge 15% saving which equates to about £1m."
