The start point for the best source of fleet information

Fill up and save trees

Date: 17 February 2012   |   Author: Hugh Hunston

Fleet drivers are being encouraged to offset their carbon footprint at the pumps and raise money for woodland restoration by subscribing to The Fuelcard Company's EcoPoint scheme, which has already raised nearly £3000 for Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust last year.

This ongoing funding involves a 50p bolt-on charge for existing fuel card holders per month. As part of the greener driving theme business drivers are offered eco-driving advice, paperless billing and a quarterly newsletter update about the tree planting scheme.

Jakes de Kock, marketing director for the Yorkshire-based Fuelcard Company, said EcoPoint struck the right balance between managing fleet running costs and being kind to the environment. Company car drivers involved in the initiative have contributed to the planting of more than one million trees.
