Welsh fire service becomes first to offer salary sacrifice scheme with Leaseplan

Date: 26 November 2012   |   Author: Jack Carfrae

A Welsh fire service has become the first fire authority in the UK to offer a salary sacrifice car scheme as part of a benefits offering.

Leaseplan's public sector arm, Automotive Leasing, is managing the scheme for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service. Known as Salaryplan, the scheme went live on 26 November and is tailored for public sector organisations.

Head of corporate risk at MAWWFRS, Mydrian Harries said: "The SalaryPlan scheme allows us to offer a. benefit to our employees that is not only cost-neutral to our organisation but also supports our environmental commitments.

"Already we are delighted by the response from staff regarding this new employee benefit and look forward to seeing strong participation levels."
