BMW has announced the Efficient Dynamics iteration of its 3-series Touring, starting from £29,710 and offering 112g/km CO2 and 65.7mpg.

Due on sale in March, the 320d ED is offered with a six-speed manual or eight-speed auto and reaches 62mph in 8.3 seconds.

The carmaker is also introducing three further variants which "adds greater depth to the range", a second diesel and two petrol units.

Priced at £31,630, the 325d Touring achieves 0-62mph in 6.9 seconds, emits 143g/km with average fuel consumption of 45.6mpg.

A 316i Touring is the new entry point, costing £26,495, and powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine with 136hp, reaching 62mph in 9.4 seconds, with 46.5mpg and 143g/km.

At the other end of the spectrum is the new £37,170 335i Touring, which is the most sporty variant in the range, zooming to 62mph in 5.5 seconds, with fuel consumption of 34.9mpg and 189g/km.

BMW is also introducing an all-wheel-drive 3-Series Touring for the first time with prices starting from £29,030.
