Europcar launches SME business rental scheme

Date: 07 August 2013   |   Author: Jack Carfrae

Rental company Europcar has launched a new corporate hire service aimed at SMEs. Known as Business Connect, the service is designed to open up the more flexible aspects associated with large-volume rental to smaller companies.

These include a fixed-cost option, which allows users to pick the kind of rental product that will best suit their needs for the year and receive an upfront set of rates to make budgeting easier.

Alternatively, SMEs will have the option of a flexible package, which will have variable rates but will also offer discounts on the company's standard prices.

Other features include a guaranteed diesel option, a light damage option, which waives repair costs up to the value of £400, account manager support, and delivery, collection and one-way rentals as part of the bundle.

A choice of payment options and access to the firm's online booking system are part of the package, as is Europcar's Affinity scheme, which offers discounts on rentals to friends and family of the staff of an SME client.

Managing director Ken McCall described SMEs as "the engine room of the UK economy".

He continued: "We know that SMEs have to be even more conscious of costs, but they can often find that they are excluded from the discounts and benefits that are afforded to big-volume rental users.

"[The new service] brings certainty on costs with discounted rates to keep UK SMEs on the move."
