The start point for the best source of fleet information

Pilkington to Paragon

Date: 11 March 2013

Former Manheim Remarketing boss Mike Pilkington has been announced as the new MD of Paragon Automotive, a division of Paragon Group focusing on defleeting and refurbishment of vehicles as well as logistics.

The announcement comes as the group completed its acquisition of Stobart Vehicle Services, forming a new division called Paragon Vehicle Services. Group chief executive Stephen Hucklesby will lead this new part of the business, overseeing its integration over the next year, while Pilkington will run its automotive section.

Pilkington said: "It's extremely exciting to join a company with such exciting growth plans and following the completion of such an important acquisition for the company. Alongside this, I am looking forward to drawing on my experience of the sector to deliver and build on the high standards of service Paragon customers have experienced."

Hucklesby added: "Mike joins us at an exciting time with the acquisition of Paragon Vehicle Solutions marking a major milestone for Paragon and consolidating our position as the UK's market leader in vehicle processing and captive fleet management."

Meanwhile, Andrew Hetzel has become integration director - finance. Steve Maltby replaces Hetzel as managing director of fleet solutions while retaining his responsibilities for Paragon Remarketing. Kevin Riddle, group finance director, and Neil Burrows, group sales & marketing director, both continue in their current roles.
