Porsche Panamera Hybrid gains OLEV approval

Porsche has gained 'Office for Low Emission Vehicles' (OLEV) grant approval for its plug-in Panamera S E-Hybrid.
The model has been classified as an ultra-low emission vehicle (ULEV), as it returns an official fuel economy figure of 91.1 mpg, CO2 emissions of 71 g/km and zero petrol consumption for up to 22 miles, qualifying it for an OLEV grant.
Eligible vehicles are entitled to a 25% grant towards the cost of the car - up to a maximum of £5000 - as well as exemption from Vehicle Excise Duty and London Congestion Charge (following an initial £10 registration fee to qualify).
Using the integrated charger, the S E-Hybrid can be fully charged within four hours using a conventional household electrical outlet or within two and a half hours using an industrial outlet. In addition to this, the plug-in Panamera S E-Hybrid can produce 95 hp (70 kW) - more than double the power of the previous generation petrol-electric Panamera Hybrid's electric motor (47 hp/34 kW) - and reach speeds of up to 84 mph on battery drive, with a top speed of 167 mph.
The Porsche S E-Hybrid is available for £88,967 before the OLEV grant.
