Ogilvie returns to public sector

Date: 12 February 2014   |   Author: Martin Gurdon

Stirling-based contract hire and lease firm Ogilvie Fleet has successfully tendered for contracts with NHS Scotland.

The businesses' inclusion in a four-firm, four-year fleet management and vehicle supply agreement represents a significant change of direction.

"We were quite heavily involved in the public sector 10 years ago, particularly in Scotland, but the decision of many local authorities not to supply cars to essential users and to provide cash instead saw our involvement in the public sector shrink," said Ogilvie Fleet managing director Gordon Stephen.

He described the agreement as "a major return" to the public sector, and said that this was the first time his company had won business from the NHS.
