Date: 01 September 2016   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Kia has revealed first details of its fourth-generation Rio supermini ahead of its global debut at this month's Paris motor show.

Production is due to begin for UK-bound vehicles towards the end of this year.

Longer and wider than the car it replaces, the new Rio features a thinner and wider grille design, a new U-shape LED light signature and a reshaped rear end.

Inside, the fourth-gen Rio features a new media system which incorporates a touchscreen to reduce the number of buttons on the centre console, gloss black and metallic trim details are also added to help give the car a more modern look, while seat cloth options consist of black or grey cloth or black, grey or red faux leather.

Kia has not revealed any powertrain information at this stage - expect information to be announced at the show - but the company has claimed the new car will offer class-leading practicality and safety technology.
