The Freight Transport Association has once again called for the toll at the Dartford crossing to be scrapped.
After the announcement that local residents will be eligible for a discount on the crossing, the FTA has demanded that local businesses receive the same privilege.
"A discount scheme for local residents is good news and a step in the right direction," said an FTA spokesman. "However, it should undoubtedly be extended to local commercial vehicle operators who use the crossing as part of their daily process of delivering or receiving goods and services."
