Home working could save 3000 firms from going bust

Date: 06 February 2009

The current bad weather could cause 2000-3000 companies to go out of business due to lost productivity, according Mycompanyfleet, the new automotive division of HR specialist NorthgateArinso.

The firm is calling on businesses not already set up for home-working to make the step in order to maintain output. It also quotes BT figures that claim a 15-31% increase in productivity when compared to operating from company premises.

"With the latest technologies, employees can be as productive at home as at the office," said Mycompanyfleet boss Andrew Leech. "Perhaps even more so with the time they save and the stress they avoid by not having to deal with the current arctic driving conditions and hazardous roads."
