The start point for the best source of fleet information

Inchcape goes green, officially

Date: 06 August 2009

Leasing and fleet management company Inchcape has had its environmental management system independently approved with the awarding of an ISO 14001 standard.

Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance awarded the standard after a two-day assessment that looked at the company's emissions reducing initiatives in the office and on the road.

"The commitment and enthusiasm is clear at all levels within the organisation," said the assessor. "The environment has a high profile and the company is keen to be able to demonstrate that effective management and sustainability is maintained."

Inchcape runs a series of initiatives to influence driver behaviour, including online vehicle tracking and an eco driver-training programme. It also operates a priority parking scheme for car-sharing employees and uses low energy lighting in all its offices.
