Ford unveils the B-max compact MPV

Date: 03 February 2012   |   Author: Jack Carfrae

Ford B-max

Ford has revealed official images of its all-new B-max prior to its unveiling at the Geneva motor show in March.

It's a compact MPV based on the Fiesta, although it's taller and longer, and will sit below the Focus in Ford's model range. It's designed to rival cars like the Citroen C3 Picasso and the Vauxhall Meriva.

Engines will include diesel units from the Fiesta and the firm's new 125hp 1.0-litre Ecoboost petrol engine, which will return 58.9mpg and is expected to offer CO2 below 110g/km.

Sliding rear doors and the lack of a central pillar maximise practicality. The B-max is due to go on sale in September and prices are expected to start at around £13,000.
