Date: 30 November 2015   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Honda has announced a price rise for its car range, effective from 1 December for the HR-V and 4 January for the rest of the range.

Prices for the HR-V are set to rise by 4.4% on average, meaning the base 1.5-litre S model will start from £18,495 - up from £17,995.

SE and EX-spec Jazz models meanwhile, will see a 2.3% price hike, however the entry-level model will remain at £13,495.

The CR-V's prices, meanwhile, will rise by 1.9% starting at £22,770 for the 2.0 S 2WD - up from £22,345.

Meanwhile, the Civic hatchback and Civic Tourer will see a price rise of 2.3% with the 1.4 S entry model now starting at £16,470.

"In the wider context we must ensure industry price competitiveness," said Philip Crossman, managing director of Honda UK.

"To achieve this we have undertaken a comprehensive review of our product pricing over the last three years to understand where Honda sits in comparison to our main competitors and have determined that we need to raise prices accordingly," he added.
