The start point for the best source of fleet information

Kent University plugs in with Kangoo ZEs

Date: 13 September 2016   |   Author: Jack Carfrae

The University of Kent has added six electric Renault Kangoo ZE vans to its fleet, bringing its total number of Kangoo ZEs to 15.

Vehicles are used to transport furniture, recycling and maintenance teams around the university's campus in Canterbury, which spans 300 acres, and the latest vans replaced equivalent diesel Kangoos when the outgoing models were up for renewal.

"The Kangoo ZEs [have] proved to be very suitable for our onsite requirements, while at the same time making a significant contribution to lowering our carbon footprint," said Gary Law, finance manager at the University of Kent, "our onsite vehicles only cover around 2500 miles a year, but it's all stop-start driving and the Kangoo Z.E [is] ideal for nipping around the campus. On some occasions the vans are only used to transport a man with a tool bag, but the payload gives us the option of carrying bulky and heavy items, so it's a great all-rounder for us."
