BMW has unveiled the Touring estate version of its new 3 Series.
Following on from the arrival of the new 3 Series saloon earlier this year, the Touring features a 500-litre boot - five litres more than its predecessor - that increases to a maximum of 1,500 litres when the rear seats are folded.
Three regular equipment grades will be available - SE, Sport and M Sport - and there will also be an M Sport Plus Edition specifically for the UK market.
Standard equipment across the range includes automatic adaptive LED headlights, a stainless steel load sill cover, an automatic tailgate, interior ambient lighting, a rain sensor, three-zone climate control, autonomous emergency braking, speed limit information and lane departure warning.
Engine options are petrols with 184hp, 258hp and 374hp, and diesels with 150hp, 190hp and 265hp.
Four-wheel drive is optional with the 190hp diesel, and standard with the 374hp petrol and 265hp diesel.
The 150hp diesel is the most efficient, with provisional fuel economy figures of 60.1-65.7mpg, and CO2 emissions of 129-118g/km.
The 150hp and 190hp diesels come with six-speed manual transmission as standard, while the other engines come with an eight-speed automatic (also available with the entry-level diesels as an option).
A plug-in hybrid model is also in development, and is set to arrive in summer 2020.
The new 3 Series Touring will be available to order from 14 June, with deliveries beginning on 28 September. Prices are yet to be confirmed.
