Vauxhall launches new Combo-E Life electric people-mover

Date: 10 February 2021   |   Author: Sam Phillips

Vauxhall has unveiled its new Combo-E Life, giving drivers who need up to seven seats and luggage space a new zero-emission choice.

The new Combo-E Life features a 50kWh lithium-ion battery producing 136hp and has a 0-60mph of 11.2 seconds with a maximum range of 174 miles.

All Combo-E Life variants come with a single-phase 7.4kW on-board charger as standard, however, this can be upgraded to the optional three-phase 11kW charger. The car can be fully charged in 30 minutes when using a 100kW rapid charger.

The Combo-E's 50kWh battery is placed between the front and rear axles meaning there is no compromise in terms of boot space and interior room compared with the petrol and diesel variants.

The new Combo-E Life is available in two sizes, Medium and XL variants. Medium variants are 4.4m long with option to spec five or seven seats. Larger XL models are 4.75 metres long but only available with seven seats.

The Medium variant with five seats features up to 597 litres of boot space which can be extended up to 2,126 litres with the rear seats down.

The XL model offers 850 litres of space rising to 2,693 litres with the rear benches folded.

The Combo-E Life comes with Apple Carplay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity, as standard alongside Vauxhall's Multimedia Navi Pro system featuring an 8in touchscreen.

Drives can select a number of optional aids and safety features including forward collision alert with pedestrian protection, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, driver drowsiness alert, traffic sign recognition, and hill descent control.

Although only available with front-wheel drive, the car is also equipped with Vauxhall's Intelligrip electronic slip control which improves traction when driving on poor surfaces.
