I had a mild panic recently when, after topping up our Seat Leon ST's screenwash, I couldn't shut
the bonnet.

Having gently clicked it, then dropped it harder, and eventually slamming it harder than I should (don't tell Seat), I was still staring at a bonnet that only closed to the first latch, not flush with the bodywork.

After a moment or two contemplating what would have turned out to be a rather silly breakdown call-out, I checked the bonnet release lever in the passenger footwell, and discovered it had stuck in the open position when I'd pulled it. A brief persuasion returned it to its rightful spot and the bonnet s
