Mercedes B-class facelift adds stop-start

Date: 20 March 2008

Mercedes will debut its stop-start technology in the UK on the facelifted B-class.

The mid-life refresh also sees the introduction of a parking assist option, a restyled front end and new seat fabrics, but it is the eco-technology that affects the biggest change to the range.

Mercedes claims fuel savings of up to 9% can be made when driving with the technology fitted, which is currently available as an option on the petrol B150 and B170 models.

While Smart's ForTwo will be fitted with the technology in October, Mercedes has said there are currently no plans to release a diesel version.
