Toyota IQ to rival Smart

Date: 18 March 2008

Toyota has confirmed a new city car measuring less than 3m in length set to rival the Smart ForTwo will go into production later this year.

The big difference from the Smat is that the IQ can carry three adults and a child.

Toyota claims the car will have a five-star EuroNCAP crash test rating and have a CO2 output near 100g/km.

UK sales are expected to start early in 2009.
