Europcar to offer electric Nissans in 2010

Date: 27 May 2009

Nissan has teamed up with daily rental firm Europcar to offer electric cars and vans for hire.

Under the arrangement, from 2010 Nissan will supply the rental giant's operations in the UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Australia and New Zealand with electric cars and light commercial vehicles.

Commenting on the new contract Rafael Girona, Europcar's chief operating officer, said: "This contract fits perfectly with the principles of our Green Charter and our policy to offer our customers a fleet with as limited an impact as possible on the environment. We will therefore give our customers the option of exploring a new means of mobility through the experience of using an electric vehicle in order to encourage them to become better eco-citizens."
