You'll win no prizes for correctly answering that the Qashqai+2's 4x4 capability made it the best equipped of all the cars in BusinessCar's long-term fleet to handle the treacherous road conditions.

While others struggled to climb even the gentlest and shortest inclines, the Nissan remained sure-footed, providing, where safety is concerned, peace of mind, particularly at the back end of 2009 when London and Kent were struck by a heavy and sudden dump of the fluffy white stuff and I was out with the family.

The large quantity of snow that fell on that afternoon wasn't the worst the region was to experience over the winter. That came at the start of 2010, but fortunately for me I missed it because I was out of the country for a week. The person benefiting from my time away was contributing editor Tristan Young, who found that the Qq+2's four-wheel drive capability came into its own on the narrow country lanes he sometimes has to traverse. In these conditions and at slow speeds, Tristan also found that the car performed better with the car's 4x4 lock engaged.
