Mini's Buddy to BMW's Connected Drive

Date: 16 October 2009

Mini has revealed a system called Connected Buddy, the small car's version of BMW's Connected Drive system, and is set to launch within 12 to 18 months.

Using a smartphone interface, information such as traffic details can be sent to the car's onboard computer.

Elsewhere in Mini developments, the brand's Mission Control feature offers 1500 audio messages relating to safety and efficiency hints. Currently one-way, Mini believes 'conversations' between driver and vehicle will be possible within the next few years.
