The start point for the best source of fleet information

BusinessCar Techies Awards 2011

Date: 23 August 2011

BusinessCar Techies

It's that time of year again - the BusinessCar Fleet Technology Awards, or Techies, are back for their third outing.

The awards aim to reward those companies and suppliers which stand out for making fleet operation cheaper, green, safer and more efficient.

Technology is a fast-paced area, and we have introduced two new categories this year. Many companies are introducing mobile applications, or 'apps', and these find a place in the Techies this year. The other newbie is the Innovation Award, and too there was a fascinating range of entries.

Overall, the number of entries has grown on last year's already impressive quantity, with the biggest names in the industry putting themselves forward across 12 categories.

BusinessCar contributor, technology champion and Bracknell Forest Council fleet manager Damian James joins the judging panel for the second time, helping the expert editorial team pick the most deserving winner in each category.

In many sectors we've chosen one, or even two, Highly Commended companies where competition was particularly fierce and we felt firms deserved recognition despite not taking the top spot.

So congratulations to all the winners and those Highly Commended, and many thanks to all those that took the time to enter. This year's judging was particularly tough, with some exceptional entries. The full rundown is on the Techies page
