Peugeot to launch new VIP demo system

Date: 01 October 2009   |   Author: Tristan Young

Peugeot will launch a new fleet demonstrator programme to help with the launch of the all-new 5008 seven-seat mini-MPV.

Fleet and used cars boss Phil Robson believes that because Peugeot has not been in this area of the market before it is "key to sales" to get the fleets driving the car.

Dubbed the 'VIP Fleet Demo Programme', the system will see Peugeot identify target customers, book an appointment and go through a "professional walk-round, presentation and handover of the vehicle", said Robson.

During the time the car is on test with the customer Peugeot plans to keep touch with those driving the car by email and phone.

Within 24 hours of the test drive an email survey will be sent to assess the experience and a Peugeot fleet sales manager will follow up with the customer.

While Robson remained tight-lipped over sales expectations for the 5008, he said he was expecting 57% of total sales to go to fleet. The 5008 will go up against the Vauxhall Zafira, Citroen C4 Grand Picasso, Renault Grand Scenic and VW Touran.

First deliveries of the car will begin at the start of 2010.
