Engine tweaks drops Alfa Giulietta's emissions below 100g/km CO2

Date: 17 July 2015   |   Author: Daniel Puddicombe

Alfa Romeo has revised the Giulietta's engine range to offer improved economy and emissions, most notably dropping the vehicle below the 100g/km CO2 threshold.

The 1.6-litre diesel's emissions drop from 104g/km CO2 to 99g/km, while the power has been increased to 120hp from 105 and it now returns 74.3mpg compared to 70.6mpg.

These improvements results in a one-band BIK reduction to 17%, a fall matched on the rest of the range. Alfa said the tweaks to entire engine line-up results in a drop of one BIK band across the board, while the 150hp and 170hp 1.4-litre petrol engines also slip into a lower VED band, reducing the OTR price by £130.

Pricing for the range remain unchanged, with the 120hp 1.4-litre petrol in Progression trim starting from £18,450.

Business Edition models, which feature a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, sat-nav, DAB radio, parking sensors and alloy wheels start from £19,080 for the 120hp 1.6-litre unit.
