The start point for the best source of fleet information
VW's Scirocco made a major splash when it was launched last summer, but it's only now the most fleet-friendly model has arrived in the form of a 2.0-litre diesel.
Surprisingly, given the Scirocco's sporting nature, VW has opted install the 140PS version of its diesel, not the more potent 170PS alternative we're very much enjoying at the moment in our long-term Audi TT.
Both engines would slot into the 18% tax band that, along with brilliant RVs of 49.5% retained after three years and 60,000 miles, helps get the cost per mile figure down to just 38.7p.
The car certainly turns heads thanks to looks far more striking in the metal than in photographs, although the squat rear end with narrow rear window really hampers rear visibility. Between that, the two sports rear seats with immovable headrests and the almost triangular rear side windows, it's very difficult to keep track of following cars on the motorway. But there is plenty of rear space for a coupe, with the Scirocco comfortably swallowing four adults.

Verdict
Brilliant on paper and great on the road, but there's a nagging feeling the 170PS diesel would be even better for very little extra cost
