More than 2000 miles into our test of the Audi TT TDi Ultra, it's time to take a look at the consumption.
We never expected to get near the 67.3mpg official figure, but going on previous experience we would expect to get within 20% of this, or 53.8mpg. So far, the Audi's achieving just over 50mpg, which is close enough for now.
Our best tankful has been 54.4mpg and our worst 43.1mpg, while on longer runs we've seen the trip computer regularly read high 50s. And apart from using the 'E' for economy mode, we're not doing anything particularly notable by way of eco-driving, so we're hopeful things will get even better. Especially as Audi says that as the total miles rise, consumption will improve.
