Ford Kuga priced to meet VW Tiguan head-on

Date: 21 February 2008

The UK's best-selling business brand has announced pricing for its new, small 4x4 competitor, the Kuga.

Initially only launching with one engine - a 136PS 2.0-litre - and two trim levels, the Kuga will cost £20,495 for the Zetec and £22,495 for the Titanium.

On sale in June, these prices land the Kuga at £5 below the Volkswagen Tiguan S and Sport trims.

Standard kit on the Ford includes aircon, ESP and 17-inch alloys, while the Titanium adds auto wipers, tinted glass, cruise control, partial leather trim and climate control.

Ford is claiming a class-leading CO2 figure of 169g/km, which puts the Kuga four BIK bands below the Tiguan, and one in front of the Toyota Rav4 and the BusinessCar award-winning Honda CR-V.
