Road safety organisation calls for tax breaks for driver training

Date: 12 April 2010   |   Author: Sam Burnett

The Institute for Advanced Motorists has called for tax breaks for companies offering advanced driver training.

Launching its manifesto for the upcoming election, the organisation believes that fewer accidents and environmentally aware drivers would bring UK companies significant savings. "Better driver behaviour must be the key road safety priority for the next 10 years," said IAM chief executive Simon Best. "A lifelong approach to learning, delivered through advanced training, is the single biggest factor that can benefit road safety."

The IAM is also calling for political parties to increase the number of police officers on the roads to address unsafe driving.
